DESCRIPTION:*This is an advancement on a presentation I had previously deli
vered with regards to atomic Linux distributions found [here](https://even
 ts.canonical.com/event/89/contributions/459/).*\n\nOver the past couple of
years\, immutable & atomic Linux distributions have made significant stri
des in day-to-day usability and practicality\; yet\, there remains compara
tively little in the way of low-level explanations with regards to how the
se mechanisms are implemented under-the-hood\, in spite of the extent to w
hich such attributes are desired on other\, existing distributions.\n\nThe
intention of this presentation\, then\, is to demonstrate one such implem
entation of atomicity within a desktop Linux distribution I maintain - ble
ndOS - and explore how we went about implementing support for varying dist
ribution bases (among them Ubuntu)\, alongside how one may develop such an
implementation for their own distributions\, in an attempt to ease existi
ng systems into such a paradigm.
