In this talk, I will introduce coreboot + LinuxBoot development on Intel Xeon-SP platforms. Presenting why and how for this more open source approach for the system firmware for our servers.
Proprietary closed-source system firmware has been if not the only or the main option for servers for a very long time, it hinders innovation, open collaboration and it isn't good for security. Our partners and we have been working on coreboot + LinuxBoot as our system firmware solution which provides a much better answer to the problems. In this talk, I will introduce why we chose this approach and how people can get familiar with it, benefit from it, and contribute to the community.

Currenlty I have been working on server BIOS (system firmware) for data centers. I have made some contribution to open source coreboot project and LinuxBoot (u-root) under commit author johnny_lin@wiwynn.com.
